Murakami has a way of writing and storytelling that makes the mundane seem almost supernatural, while the supernatural appears mundane. So far this book continues that tradition and is a joy to read.
I was given the book by my sister a few years ago, but it ended up "lost" in my bookshelf until recently. I started reading it without looking at the synopsis on the back, but now that I'm about a hundred pages in I find the character's mental journey bears vague but relatable resemblance to my current one. It's curious how I often seem to find a random book to read that ends up being just the right thing at the right time.
Or maybe it's the other way around. Maybe some books simply give me a new perspective from which to look at my situation and retroactively makes me relate more deeply with it?

I started this after I finished Killing Commendatore, as I felt like reading more of Haruki Murakami's work. This is a much shorter story, so it seemed apt as a "dessert" of kinds while still finding myself in that particular kind of mood.
